The field of telecommunications is changing at Internet speed. In the book Megatrends, author John Naisbitt stated that "We are drowning in information and starved for knowledge". The explosion of the Internet and e-mail that has occurred since those words were written has made it increasingly difficult to uncover the knowledge within the information.
